Confidentiality and Security
Legislation such as the Gramm Leach Blilley Act and the
Health Insurance Portability and Protection Act has made protection of
confidential data a significant concern. As an information services company,
CSB maintains extensive consumer information that is highly confidential.
Access to CSB’s offices and the information maintained by the company,
is therefore tightly controlled.
Access to CSB’s computer system is restricted via user identification
and pass codes. System security limits employees’ access to those applications
and functions needed to perform their authorized duties.
Due to the nature of our business, all CSB employees are required to sign
a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment. This confidentiality
agreement outlines the Company’s confidentiality policy, prohibits the
disclosure or use of confidential information except in the exercise of
employees’ official duties and then only as prescribed by law. The agreement
also advises employees that violation of the policy is grounds for immediate
termination and could result in a criminal prosecution.
