We employ various tools to enhance recovery for our clients. These include:

CUBS Collection System: Our computer software is the 2004 Collector System from Columbia Ultimate Business Systems (CUBS), which is used by hundreds of businesses and public entities. CUBS features state-of-the-art collection software, including automated interfaces to credit file databases and on-line skip tracing tools. The efficiencies inherent in this system further enhance the effectiveness of our collection staff and enable us to generate greater recoveries for our clients. The CUBS collection software is "result oriented" and designed to direct collection efforts in a logical and persistent manner to ensure that all steps are taken to collect your accounts.

Predictive Dialer: Predictive dialing is a major part of our collection strategy. CSB maintains a predictive dialing system that is interfaced with the CUBS collection system. This system is integrated into our telephone system. This allows any collector to use the dialer, at any time. Collectors place calls using CSB’s telephone system which routes long distance calls over a T-1 circuit. Incoming calls are routed to the next available collector. This configuration allows us to route telephone calls over our VPN to branch offices, increasing the availability of the technology in our work places. These technological advances improve our collection product by increasing the number of contact attempts we can achieve.

National Change of Address Records: CSB uses a mailing service vendor that provides the most current NCOA database to update your assignments. If the USPO has a more current address, the account is updated with the new address. The new address is automatically transmitted to the account file, replacing the outdated address information. This reduces returned mail and accelerates the collection process. This service also provides updated telephone numbers from the Donnelly Information database.

Skip Tracing: The advent of the Internet and high-speed servers has made access to information easier than ever. Effective skip tracing, however, still remains a very labor and time intensive effort. The huge volume of information now available requires training, intelligence and commitment on the part of the skip tracer. CSB is committed to maximizing recoveries for our clients. We utilize state-of- the-art skip tracing techniques and are constantly researching new technologies and sources of information. Our multiple office network provides us with one of the most valuable consumer databases in the country. Our system automatically matches multiple accounts for the same consumer by comparing key demographic elements: social security number, driver’s license number, current or previous address, employment, phone number and date of birth. Our collectors and tracers have immediate access to a full line of Public record databases that we can search for assets, new telephone number, reverse telephone listings and up-to-date information on all bankruptcy filings, discharges, dismissals and conversions.

Credit Reporting: We believe in extending sufficient time for cooperative defendants to avoid negative credit reports. The decision to report your accounts lies with you. If you do not want credit reporting, we will honor your wishes. With client’s authorization, and in compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act and other federal statutes we credit report appropriate customers to all 3 national credit bureaus – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Possible denial of future credit often serves as a motivation tool for customers to promptly pay their unpaid balance. We have found that credit reporting provides 10% increase in collection effectiveness.
